GB-Day

Well, the day has come. Surgery (for those not in the know, I am having Gastric Bypass Surgery) looms tomorrow morning at 11 am. I can tell you one thing, I am more nervous and excited than I have been about anything since Christmas morning when I was a kidlet. Time has started to crawl, so I figure that's the excitement. If it was nerves it would start flying by...or at least that's how I see it. I'll be in the hospital for two days, if all goes well, and my assistant Ryanne and my good friend Susan will be with me. I don't exactly have the kind of family where you'd expect them to show up and all that, though to be fair my sister is in Connecticut and she would be there if she could. I will try to log on as soon as I get home and will let you all know how things went.

I haven't heard anything about how Ecsatsy is doing out there in the wide world. Not that I am paying much attention. I have other things on my mind as you see. I have gotten some feedback from some of you all and I want you to know how much I truly appreciate that. After all, you are the ones that matter and you are the ones I want to hear from. So maybe you'll be kind to me and leave me some comments about Ecstasy. I only got 4 stars from Romantic Times Magazine this time. I guess that is still good, but I want to know what cost me that half a star. Am I just being too hard on myself? Maybe that's the nerves. Who knows! Anyway, I'll give away a signed copy of Ecsatsy to one lucky person who comments on this blog in any way about anything. I could use the entertaqinment while time tick tocks away. Sigh....it only took me five minutes to write this. Now what will I do??

Hugs and kitties,
Jacki

Hi Jacki,
Much good luck with your surgery - I also sympathize with food issues.

I would LOVE to be reading Ecstasy at this very minute - however, it is not yet available in the Kindle version. Any word on when it will be available?

Love and hugs,
Marni :)

4 stars is very good! I haven't read Ecstasy yet, so i can't give you my opinion about it. But it's on my TBB list, that must mean something... ;-)

Good luck with your surgery. Everyone I've known who has undergone it has done well, so I'll be thinking positive thoughts for you!

I just found your site after looking for books similar to the Sookie Stackhouse series on Amazon and I am excited to read your work. Btw, we are neighbors. I'm about an hour and a half away in SC.

I have 8 beautiful cats and have just started writing my first novel. When your feeling better, I'd love any advice you could offer. :)

Good luck!

Hey Jacki,

Good luck tomorrow with your surgery. I know everything will go just fine.

I just finished reading Ecstasy yesterday and absolutely loved it. I can't wait for the next book to come out.

I too wish you the best of luck on your surgery tomorrow. My cohort had hers done almost a year ago and everytime she walks past me I always have to do a double take.

For entertainment we have a catdog who we love very much, she was an alley cat we added to the family. We have gone thru the training of not scratching on the furniture, and she has done well for the past 6 years (not one scratch on anything) for christmas we bought some new furniture for the house. I come home from work today and what do I see, you guess right, she is going to town with the scratching and she is looking at me with the "I'm not doing nothing wrong face". I left the house and went to buy her a gift of nail covers. Came back home feed her and brushed her and then I broke out with the nails, she laid in my lap as I started putting them on. She was doing fine until she realized what I was doing. Cat took off and now I'm taking a break after chasing her for the past 10 mins, now I'm off to finish the last two nails. Wish me luck :)

Jacki!

Good luck with your surgery. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I bought Ecstasy the day it came out. I circled all the hot spots in my Barnes and Nobles and huffed in frustration. It wasn't on the shelves! So I went up to the counter and asked for it. They had it in inventory, but they had so many people call in sick that it wasn't put out yet. So I walked back with the salesperson and got my copy.

Persistence pays! I LOVE the inside cover. Sadly, I am only half way through it. (Dang real life!)

I was contemplating going to the RT Booklover's Convention in Orlando. I saw you were hosting an event. That is the major selling point for me! I hope to see you there!

Sending speedy healing vibes your way!

Wow, I am behind on my catching up! Bariatric surgery huh? How scary and exciting all at the same time. I work at a hospital that performs this procedure and my supervisor had it done last year. It is a hard road, but well worth it. Definitely not the "easy route" that so many people think it is.

You will do amazing! Making it to this point is half the battle. Watching Becky (my supervisor) work with her diet and exercise is inspirational. She does so well and is so much happier.

Good luck and if I can help with information at all, please let me know. I work in the dietary department and work with the RD's that do bariatric ed, so I would be more than happy to send anything you might need. I am sure that you have it all already, but it never hurts to have other resources. =)

Take care,

Hi Jacki! I was just about to go to bed when I came on your site. I decided Ecstasy would be a good book to start in bed since I was positive I bought it a couple of days ago. I've ripped apart the house and can't find it! I happened to notice they were all gone today at my Wal-Mart!

I hope your surgery went well and the recovery also!

I hope your surgery went well and that you aren't feeling too miserable. Ecstasy was amazing and I can not wait for Rapture. If you are open to bribes for the ARC's of this book, let me know. I'll do just about anything:) Ecstasy deserved 5 stars for sure. It was so hot that my fingers are still smoking. I tried to make a New Year's Resolution to diet but that didn't go over very well. I just love food too much and have too little willpower. Anyway, I hope all is going well for you.

J,
I've had three major surgeries...and it's a long healing process....get up and walk when they tell you to, and rest when you get tired. This will make recovery quicker. Don't be surprised when you tire quickly, or feel a bit down because that is the after effects of surgery. Hope the courage it took to take this step becomes your constant partner in the coming times.

greetings! I am new to the blog and new to your books as well. I picked up Jacob about a month ago on a whim to indulge my paranormal romance addiction. Now, I am one of those who must have a good story and character content to continue reading. Anyone can write about sex and make the people having it be vamps or lycan-whatevers.Now, those who create a fully fleshed world and a storyline that keeps surprising you with new twists as wel as give us some deep, passionate and rather creative sex scenes, that is something unique that sets your books apart. I love your creations and world most of all. I have actually gotten two of my best male bookworm friends hooked on the series, can you believe that? And they are straight. Promise.

I am also bringing the books to a "sex toy" party a friend of mine is hosting to encourage their use as "appetizers". *evil grin*

I hope everything goes well with your surgery and good for you! This is a big step in the right direction to being healthy.

Keep on writing and if you can make a trip to Dallas, TX sometime in the near future. A book store called Legacy Books in Plano has been touting your books and has gotten many readers hooked. We would love to see you.

Jacquelyn,
I have to say I picked up one of your books (Damien), not knowing how it would be and really expecting not to be as enamored of the characters as my other favorite authors...WELL- Let me tell you I was hooked! the writing was great and I was so happily reading cover to cover within 3 days! I had to go to B&N and see what other ones you had out there. I found Noah which was just as good! They were out of the others (good for you, bad for me)! Soo I am happily scouring Amazon and other place for your previous works and am impatiently...err..patiently waiting for Ecstacy to be on the shelves! Congrats on your new Way of Life...And hope you are doing well. My sister had the surgery done 4 years ago and I can say she is now running in triathlons! Keep up the wonderful writing!

Hi Jacki: I have been a huge fan of your work ever since reading "Jacob" (for the first time), I have eagerly looked forward to each new book in the series and have passed them along to my daughter in law to read, making her a fan as well. Although I was somewhat disappointed that there was not another book in the "Nightwalker series" before the "Shadowdweller series" began, I was not disappointed in "Ëcstasy". I loved the characters Trace and Ashla and am looking forward to "Rapture". I was very happy to see Gideon's appearance and am anticipating the coming together of the two series at some point in the future so that my beloved characters in the Night Walker series and Shadow dwellers series may hopefully join forces to defeat the "bad guys" who stalk their worlds..... I hope all went well with your surgery and that you are recovering well. A huge fan!

Ecstasy is the first book of yours that I have read. I loved enough to finish it in one evening, and immediately go out and by the entire Nightwalker series. So I have no insight into why you would have lost a star on the review. I can't wait to read the next book, and I am so excited to have a new author to love!

I was at Walmart with my husband about two weeks ago looking for a new book to read. He picked up Ecstasy and said, "This looks like the kind of book you like." So, I bought it, (I loved the cover, didn't even read the back). Within 4 days I owned copied of all the Nightwalked books too. I love the way you write. My husband was just so thrilled that he was able to pick out a book for me too! Thank you for being such a fantastic author!
